About Womb to World Art

I am Hannah, a spiritual home educating mother from Oxfordshire, and here I share what led me to start making birth art and antenatal downloads, my birth stories, NICU breastfeeding success story, and how art has become part of my trauma-healing journey.

Why I started making birth art

Read the story of how and why I started Womb to World Art - and how becoming a mother and making art has led to deeper healing from more than 30 years of chronic low-self esteem, depression and anxiety.

An intro to what I do and why

After a traumatic emergency birth and NICU stay following my first hoped-for home birth, I started Womb to World Art when pregnant with her second baby, and expressing myself through art became a big part of preparing for a spiritual, healing birth.

NICU resources and gifts

As a NICU mum, I’d love to help lessen the potential trauma for other parents by spreading awareness about why baby might need special care after birth, and the ways that we can still feel like an empowered parent even when baby is poorly. I’ve created handouts which birth workers can download with a licence to print and share with families, and use as teaching tools to have conversations about NICU antenatally - or to help them support families at the time they are in NICU.

What I wish I'd known about NICU

In this video I share what I wish I’d known when our full term baby needed special care after a healthy ‘low risk’ pregnancy, to help other parents in a similar situation know how to care for their NICU baby and have the guidance we didn’t get.

Would you like us at your event?

We've been very glad to be part of our first three events this year! It feels wonderful to be in a room full of people that believe in birth and breastfeeding the way I do. And it's been very special to meet people in real life that before I'd only connected with online. So if you'd like our pop-up birthy shop at your midwifery, breastfeeding, pregnancy or student midwife event then please let me know and we can see if it will work!
