An A3 antenatal education PDF download about the connection between the throat, the breath and the pelvic floor and why it matters for birth with a licence for birth workers to share as printed materials with clients and as teaching tools in childbirth education classes. Plus an extra page of teaching notes because I just had more to say and thought it might be helpful.
"The voice isn’t only an important way of communicating, but also a powerful built-in healing tool that can massage the body from the inside out. As young children, most of us were conditioned into staying small, being quiet - and therefore associate expressing ourselves with being shamed, hurt and abandoned physically and emotionally.
Because of this we are often afraid to say what we think, to speak honestly, to express our authentic views and emotions - so people are often afraid to let themselves go and make noise during birth. If we can work through this fear and conditioning - through vocalising in labour we can stimulate the vagus nerve to activate the parasympathetic nervous system - whilst also softening and opening all three diaphragms - allowing our cervix to open for birth."
Comes with two file versions - one that says 'chords' and one that says 'cords'. I originally made with chords, but then found out the most common spelling is cords, so have made an edited version.
A great support alongside hypnobirthing and educating yourself on physiological birth, or for doulas to include in client materials or use as a teaching tool.
